Fuel Storage Solutions (FSS) is an award-winning OFTEC registered provider of complete commercial and industrial fuel storage solutions, from supply to maintenance of tanks for oil, diesel and petrol, plus associated systems including pipework, to environmental monitoring equipment for the safe storage of all fuel types.

Co-Directors Jonathan and Katharine Barnett launched the business in 2002, establishing it over 20 years later as one of the UK’s leading and most well-respected fuel system solutions providers, employing 40 people nationwide.

FSS is a privately-owned family business headquartered in Thornton village, at the heart of Bronte country, in a former Methodist chapel which was fully restored and converted to provide the platform for sustained growth. From this base they supply services across the British Isles and Ireland, including remote locations such as the Hebrides, the Highlands of Scotlandhe Falkland Islands.

Recipient Of The King’s Award For Enterprise - Innovation

In April FSS was awarded the first ever The King’s Award for Enterprise, recognising their excellence in innovation. The award was made for their dedicated teamwork inventing, designing, patenting and bringing to market APIApipe™, a unique ‘pipe in a pipe’, fully bunded pipework system that eradicates fire and environmental risks associated with pumping fuel in sensitive, live situations.
