Promoting Standards And Innovation At The Cleaning Show
The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) is proudly promoting standards and innovation at the Cleaning Show on 14th, 15th and 16th March 2023.
The CHSA is sponsor of the CSSA’s Innovation Showcase. The event brings together some of the most exciting product and service innovations in the industry. The very best will be on exhibition at the Cleaning Show.
The CHSA is also participating in the Cleaning Show Conference, advising buyers of cleaning and hygiene products about how to make sure they get what they pay for.
With inflation high, tempting prices offered by the unscrupulous can seem impossible to resist. These products and services at prices, which appear too good to be true, may be compromising on quality and quantity. At the Cleaning Show Conference, CHSA Chair, Lorcan Mekitarian, will highlight some of the egregious examples and give buyers the information they need to differentiate between unscrupulous but apparently credible companies and those trading ethically.
The value of the Mark was highlighted in 2022, when the CHSA issued a ‘cease and desist’ order to a Turkish manufacturer of plastic sacks that was claiming Accredited status.
“Our Accreditation Schemes are a stamp of quality,” explained Lorcan Mekitarian. “Our advice to buyers is to look first for the Accreditation Scheme logo to guarantee quality. If there is any uncertainty about the legitimacy of the manufacturer’s or distributor’s claim, check our website. It carries a full list of members. If they are not listed on our website, they are not Accredited by the CHSA.”
The CHSA’s Independent Inspector audits members every year. Every CHSA member has also signed the Association’s rigorous Code of Practice, which incorporates the Competition and Market’s Authority’s Green Claims Code. It requires members to “maintain a high standard in the conduct of its business”. The combination of the Code of Practice and Accreditation Scheme membership means every member:
- Trades ethically and sustainably;
- Provides quality, fit for purpose products; and
- Makes sure what’s on the box is what’s in the box.
