Churchill Awarded Silver By The Sustainable Facilities Management Index

A Churchill Services Cleaning at Detsche Bank Churchill Services is delighted to announce that it has been awarded silver by the Sustainable Facilities Management Index (SFMI). This is the second time that Churchill has taken part in the assessment and improves on the bronze award received in 2021, marking Churchill’s continued growth in sustainability and ESG.

Run annually by sustainability consultancy Acclaro Advisory, the SFMI is the only sustainability benchmark for the UK FM sector. The purpose of the SFMI is to embed sustainability into the management and operations of the FM sector. It is an opportunity for businesses to improve their performance, make sustainability part of the everyday and be challenged on how to do more.

Acclaro assessed Churchill against 23 different criteria in the Environmental, Governance and Social Value areas. Churchill’s score increased in each of these three areas compared with 2021, with the largest improvements seen in the ‘governance’ section. The award in particular recognised Churchill’s advanced performance in the areas of management systems and compliance, with both topics being its highest scoring areas.

The SFMI silver award is the latest recognition of Churchill’s ESG work. In 2022, the company achieved the gold medal for sustainability by EcoVadis, a global sustainability accreditor.

SFMI silver award logo Hannah Dales, group environment manager at Churchill, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded silver in the 2022 SFMI assessment. We are committed to embedding sustainability into our operations and culture, and it is fantastic to be recognised in this way.”

2022’s full results can be found in the ‘SFMI Summary Report 2022’.
