ACTUATE UK To Present At Construction Leadership Council’s COP26 Session

Construction: The Built Environment’, Thursday 11th November 2021 (9:30am-11am, Green Zone, Cinema Auditorium)

The ACTUATE UK logo Engineering services alliance Actuate UK has been confirmed as one of the Construct Zero partners presenting in the Construction Leadership Council’s session Construction: The Built Environment at COP26 on Thursday 11th November.

Michelle Agha-Hossein, a chartered engineer, will be presenting on how Actuate UK members are advancing the importance of retrofit in reducing carbon emissions in existing buildings. Michelle is the Building Performance and Soft Landings Lead at the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) – one of the Actuate UK member organisations. She said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to participate at COP26 in Glasgow and look forward to presenting how the built environment can decarbonise through retrofitting existing building stock, given most will still be in operation in 2050. Achieving the collective target certainly depends upon all stakeholders embracing practical pathways on the journey towards net zero.”

Actuate UK net zero policy also supports the Construction Leadership Council’s Domestic Retrofit Strategy and seeks ways to maximise the contribution of engineering services to carbon reduction strategies in public sector, commercial and industrial premises, as well as transport and other essential infrastructure.
