Amey Embarks On An Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Journey
Amey’s Secure Infrastructure business has embarked on a journey to introduce a fully sustainable cleaning solution across its FM operations.
The new cleaning model will focus on environmentally friendly practices and cleaning products that use renewable sources to reduce waste and harm to the environment, employees and building users – while still providing high-quality sanitisation and COVID mitigation.
Amey has worked with its supply chain partners to source environmentally friendly chemicals that ensure employees and building users are not exposed to harmful chemicals. Waste going to landfill is reduced by reusing and refiling existing containers, and water pollution mitigated from the harsh chemical poured down the drain.
Amey will also invest in new and innovative equipment that will reduce water usage and train employees on the latest sustainable cleaning model. Environmental educational packs will be provided for pupils at the schools maintained by Amey.
The new model is initially being trialled across the Amey’s Bradford and Barnsley Schools operations and their FM contract with Highways England before being rolled out across all contracts by the end of the year.
