Available in FSC-certified timber, the doors come in a variety of veneer and paint finishes, as well as glazing options. The combinations of materials used in acoustic doors means it can be difficult to achieve good fire performance. Enfield is one of the few manufacturers in the country that can supply doors with high levels of noise reduction and fire resistance, from FD30 doors with up to 48dB acoustic performance, to FD60 doors with up to 54dB. ● Fire Doors that offer fire resistance from 30 minutes to 120 minutes, tested in accordance with British Standard 476 Part 22, assured by independent, third-party certification from the International Fire Consultants (IFC) Group. Enfield’s expertise in Fire Doors is well-recognised. After Grenfell, the Ministry of Housing Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) asked some key fire doors suppliers to help them. Enfield Speciality Doors provided technical advice, design and fire protection expertise.
Three sample Enfield doorsets were also provided to go through tests the MHCLG undertook in 2018, looking at fire resistance of doors opening both into and away from the fire. Enfield’s doors passed the test with a large margin: ‘opening in’ exceeded the time by 19% and ‘opening out’ by an exceptional 70% (51 minutes).
