NotJustTaps Launch Thermassure To Help Prevent Against Hot Water Accidents & Scalding
NotJustTaps has launched Thermassure, the first of its kind range of taps featuring an innovative safety cartridge which shuts off the water at a maximum of 45 degrees along with aerators to help manage and reduce infection control.
According to NHS Hospital Episode Statistics for England, the CIPHE has found that from 2017-2018:
- 755 finished consultant episodes were allocated to people who were treated in hospital for scalding from taps, up from 713 (nearly 6%) on those admitted the previous year.
- These types of burns are up from 914 the previous year and 840 the year before, leading to a 14.5% rise in just three years.
The brand new Thermassure range of taps includes styles for domestic and commercial use, plus high specification medical taps which are fitted with elbow levers and infection reducing aerators.

How The Product Works
Heat expands the wax element and drives the piston to reduce the hot water inlet flow rate meaning the outlet temperature will never exceed 45 degrees. If cold water pressure fails, the piston ensures a fast and complete closure of the hot water inlet.
