Cladding recoating for façade revival

The exterior of the DHL Bardon Hill unit was suffering. The light-grey façade had faded in sunlight, felt the damaging effects of weathering, and had accumulated dirt and debris. The DHL logo had also begun to show signs of wear and wasn’t showcasing the instant, bold yellow colour that’s synonymous with the brand.

One of the key challenges for this project was the size of the building. The external façade that required recoating measured 7000m²: a vast area that needed to be tackled carefully. A balance was needed between completing the work in a timely manner whilst also being consistent and precise, and approaching the work safely.

Over several weeks, the onsite spraying team set to work recoating all the external elevations of metal cladding, with exceptional results. The finished façade is now a sleek and polished black. Its appearance is striking, with a clean, smooth and professional image that matches the company’s strong reputation.

What’s more, the logo is now more boldly showcased. The contrast of the yellow branding and the black cladding façade finish helps the DHL name to stand out.
