Mitie has released its annual ESG report which highlights the progress made against 13 ambitious targets, which form part of its social value framework. All 13 of the targets set in last year’s ESG report have been achieved or exceeded, spanning Mitie’s People, Environment, Supply Chain and Community pillars. Primary focuses outlined in the report include renewable energy sourcing and decarbonisation, fostering a responsible supply chain, investing in skills, supporting colleague wellbeing and creating employment opportunities through The Mitie Foundation.

FIS Guidance Brings Clarity To Suspended Ceiling Requirements

FIS suspended ceiling requirements guidance The Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) has launched guidance that is designed to support and enable better understanding and engagement with BS EN 13964 – Suspended Ceilings, Requirements and Test Methods.

The standards guidance note aims to break down the standard into bite-sized sections. This will make it easier to understand to those who aren’t already familiar, allowing anyone to isolate only the sections that are relevant or of interest and gain either a passing understanding or to establish the necessity of purchasing the full standard. Where appropriate, each section covered will also give relevant commentary on reasonable expectations of products in today’s marketplace.

The BBC has extended its facilities management contract with Mitie for an additional two years. Under the extension Mitie will continue to deliver an extensive range of facilities management services including engineering, logistics, maintenance, cleaning, and landscaping across the organisations’ nationwide property portfolio, such as its iconic sites in London, Cardiff, Glasgow, and Salford.
