CRADLE To Launch First Welsh Partnership Alongside Tilbury Douglas At Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil
As the lead contractor on the £130 million refurbishment of the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fitout company, has partnered with CRADLE to launch the first CRADLE pregnancy loss service in Wales at the Prince Charles Hospital.
This follows on from the recent launch of Tilbury Douglas’ UK wide partnership with CRADLE, which focuses on supporting anyone affected by pregnancy loss, as well as providing resources to healthcare professionals across the health board. More than 40 NHS Hospitals have a CRADLE early pregnancy loss service across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with Prince Charles Hospital being the first Welsh site, which officially launches in May 2022.
The Partnership is also being supported by Legacy in the Community (LitC), a local charity that supports social inclusivity, which will lead on the collection and collation of the comfort bags. Through this collaboration, and LitC’s strong local links, it will help promote both charities work and allow for a greater impact.
As part of the major refurbishment of the hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, which aims to improve patient care and the working environment for staff, Tilbury Douglas has a strong focus on supporting the local community and this new partnership means CRADLE will provide support directly to those affected by pregnancy loss.
