Tilbury Douglas Wins £16m Contract To Extend Emergency Department At Aintree Hospital

A hybrid visualisation of how the work at Aintree Hospital will look Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fitout company, has been awarded a £16 million contract to extend the Emergency Department and theatre suite at Aintree Hospital for Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The development features a two-storey extension with new hybrid operating theatres and will also include the refurbishment of existing theatres.

The new department will feature improved assessment areas, an enhanced Radiology Department and improvements to ambulance drop off bays on the ground floor.



The project will be delivered in collaboration with IBI Design Group and Sutcliffe Civil and Structural Engineers. Main construction has commenced and will be completed by spring of 2023.
