  • Demand Logic is supporting the real estate and asset management specialist to reach their sustainability goals with building performance analytics technology.
  • Services will help to improve employee wellbeing, whilst prioritising maintenance and saving energy/carbon.
  • The partnership forms part of APAM’s wider ESG and Responsible Investing strategy.

Catella APAM, specialist UK real estate asset manager, has extended their partnership with Demand Logic for a further three years to provide innovative building performance analytics at Arlington Business Park (ABP) in Reading. The market-leading technology enables real-time analysis delivering actionable intelligence to improve wellbeing, prioritise maintenance and save energy/carbon, which are key elements of APAM’s sustainability goals across ABP.

Delivering services to ABP since 2018, Demand Logic has worked with the APAM and to identify almost 200 actions to optimise the performance of the properties which equate to almost £60,000 of annual energy savings. Demand Logic will deliver data analytics services across seven properties with a vision of continuous optimisation. There is also a combined vision of introducing Demand Logic into other properties across the estate throughout the agreement.

The three-year partnership aims to provide direct insight to the property performance across the park, supporting a reduction in energy usage, maintenance effectiveness and comfort for the tenants and occupants. The ability to see the performance of a portfolio of properties in one individual view is invaluable in terms of resource management and prioritisation.

Regarding the extended collaboration with APAM, Mike Darby, CEO and Co-founder of Demand Logic said: “The built environment is one of the biggest contributors to carbon emissions in the UK. Using the power of data, we can understand what’s working and where inefficiencies occur, advising on improvements that need to be applied across various unit points, like heaters, coolers and boilers to name just a few. Through our Building Analytics technology, Demand Logic will continue providing actionable insight to help Catella APAM lower their carbon and save money as part of their sustainability goals.”

Ben Dickins, Senior Asset Manager from APAM said: “At every level, this is a partnership approach aligned with APAM’s ESG and Responsible Investing strategy. The use of technology combined with property expertise is a powerful combination to drive change and make significant positive impacts at building level. We are delivering employee wellbeing and productivity improvements today whilst working with tenants to help society’s push for a sustainable future

Working with Demand Logic is an exciting partnership we are rolling out to other buildings in the APAM portfolio.”

The Arlington Business Park encompasses 550,000 sq ft of office campus space, offering a modern working environment alongside landscaped gardens and scenic lakes. The portion managed by APAM totals 365,000 sq ft and has been subject to an extensive repositioning since 2015 and a £40M capital expenditure programme.
