Brayborne Re-Awarded City College Southampton Campus Cleaning Contract
Brayborne Facilities Services are to provide cleaning services to City College Southampton for a further two-year term without re-tender.
City College is a general further education facility providing career-led courses, apprenticeships and education for young people and adults.
Located in Southampton city centre, the campus has undergone a huge investment in new facilities and equipment, allowing students to learn and work in real life working environments using industry standard equipment.
Specialist on-site facilities include a professional theatre, commercial restaurant, hair and beauty salons, a science lab, engineering and construction workshops. The site also includes buildings leased to Solent University, a children's nursery, and a marine skills centre at Woolston.
Appointed to City College's sites in 2018, Brayborne has subsequently resolved staffing issues, revised scheduling and introduced efficiencies to reduce cost.
The 25-strong cleaning staff provides vertical and horizontal day-to-day cleaning together with periodic deep cleans.
"Brayborne have been brilliant", says City College Estates & Procurement Manager, Jackie Nicholas.
"They have improved our cleaning process, readily offer flexibility that meets our changing needs, and have been particularly supportive during lockdown. We benefit from a friendly and effective team whose improved morale is reflected in standards and willingness to help.
"We had no cause to re-tender for this contract and offered the two-year extension to Brayborne."
Part of The Exclusive Services Group, Brayborne manages over 1100 staff across 250 contracts specialising in daily and periodic cleaning in the educational and commercial sectors.
The City College appointment is the latest in a series of education cleaning contracts awarded to Brayborne covering over 20 sites across southern England.
