Premier Modular To Construct New Unit At Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Premier Modular To Construct New Unit At Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Modern methods of construction are to be deployed in the construction of a new unit at the Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Chertsey.

Premier Modular, the offsite construction specialist, has secured a £9.8m contract and will be responsible for the construction of a new two-storey Priority Assessment Unit facility which will house 62 patient bays, nurse stations, staff rooms, seminar rooms, laundry, clean utilities, and kitchenettes.

Premier Modular, as main contractor for the project, will be supported by strategic delivery partner Claritas Group.

The Priority Assessment Unit will be connected to the Emergency Department and will be equipped with medical gases, datacomms, security systems, CCTVs, nurse call systems, and fully integrated with the main hospital.

Premier Modular director, Dan Allison, has said that this is a scheme which is ideally suited to offsite construction. It allows the Trust to meet an urgent need to expand capacity for emergency care and the development of a very constrained site.

The new building will be located in a courtyard close to the Emergency Department which will require careful logistical planning.

The project was designed by BDP with delivery architects P+HS and the facility is expected to be completed by summer 2021.
